6.30 pm – Connect – Doors Open
Please bring your surplus produce, plants, seeds, books, craft supplies, tools etc. to share with others on the Share Table. Place your donations on the table when you arrive, and then sharing will open at 8.00pm after the LEARN session. Browse, ask questions and chat together.
6.45 pm – Learn – Prepare Your Patch

Now that you’ve Planned Your Plot (at the January Connect and Learn), how will you Prepare Your Patch?
Start thinking about all your options including:
- Looking at Patterns in Nature
- Designing for Water and Irrigation
- Integrating Permaculture Principles
- Approaches to Garden Spaces and Styles
- No Dig Sheet Mulching
- Wicking Beds
- Raised Gardens
- Potager with Diverse Plantings
- Mandalas and Maximising Edges
- Vertical Spaces
- Pots and Containers
Debbie is a teacher and designer with a deep interest in permaculture-inspired self-reliance and resilience. She has a home-based learning centre, Optimise Learning, where she teaches literacy, mentors facilitators and presents workshops. These regular Events are practical, boutique learning experiences tailored to your interests and needs, and planned for small groups to empower individual and community skill-building and resilience.
Debbie also writes a Nurtured Life Blog to inspire others to live a Nurtured Life.
8.00 pm – Connect – Light Supper and Share Table
A light supper will be served (Gluten Free and Vegan). Sharing of produce opens at 8.00pm to allow plenty of time for everyone to place their donations on the Share Table, and then give you the opportunity to browse, connect and make your selections during supper.
- Financial Members of Permaculture Toowoomba Inc. – Free
- First-time Visitors to a Permaculture Toowoomba Inc. Event – Free
- Non-Members – $10 per person
- Children attending with parents – Free
Annual Membership of Permaculture Toowoomba Inc. is $40 per person or $30 for a second or subsequent family member. Membership forms will be available on the night for anyone wishing to join, or available here for download.
Location and Parking
Mercy Community Lucia Room is located at 104 South Street, Toowoomba not far from the round-about at the corner of Mackenzie and South Streets near East Creek and Garnett Lehmann Parks.
Off-street parking is available in the main car park. Enter via the main driveway to park your vehicle. We’ll meet in the Lucia Room, a short walk down the driveway on your right.
The venue has access for wheel chairs, walking frames and strollers as needed.
Everyone is welcome (including children with parent supervision).

Do you have surplus?
We encourage you to bring your surplus produce, plants, seeds, books, craft supplies and resources to share with others at our monthly Connect and Learn evenings.
Some ideas of what you could bring include – fruit, vegetables, herbs, eggs, honey, milk, jams, pickles, preserves, jars, ferments, starters, scobies, seeds, plants, seedlings, cuttings, tubers, pots, tools, gardening magazines, permaculture books, recipes, patterns, manure, coffee grounds, compost additives, worms, meal worms, wool, fabric, craft supplies, soap, natural cleaning products, plastic alternatives, produce bags – the list is extensive.
Please bring whatever you can and then take home whatever you need within our culture of generosity and free sharing.
