6.45 pm – Learn – Fermented Thirst-Quenchers

Presented by Sam Rogers, Tim Nash and Debbie Bassingthwaighte

As we head into summer it’s the perfect time to craft your own fermented drinks to quench your thirst. Fermented drinks are rich in gut-friendly bacteria and can use seasonal gluts and potential waste such as pineapple and banana skins. What a great way to keep your family hydrated and marvel at the magic of creating drinks full of healthy goodness.

Sam, Tim and Debbie will demonstrate and tell us about some of their favourite fermented drinks that you can create in your own homes.

Learn how to create:

  • Kombucha and Jun
  • Water Kefir (Tibicos)
  • Ginger Beer
  • Kvass
  • Tepache
  • Probiotic Elderflower Fizz
  • Honey-Fermented Cordial

There will be samples to taste and SCOBYs to take home so you’ll feel ready to start making your own fermented drinks at home.

8.00 pm – Connect – Light Supper and Share Table

A light supper will be served (Gluten Free and Vegan).  Sharing of produce opens at 8.00pm to allow plenty of time for everyone to place their donations on the Share Table, and then give you the opportunity to browse, connect and make your selections during supper.
