The Story Behind the Garden
Kiru Farm is the home of Russell, Kirsten and Ryan Bradley, as well as a menagerie of pets and livestock. The Bradley family moved to Kiru Farm at the end of 2015, relocating from Melbourne’s outer north. The property ticked all of their boxes – a few acres, well fenced, good water supply, close to a town, and a reliable internet connection to allow Russell to telecommute and retain his Melbourne-based job.
What You’ll See
Over the last three and a half years, Kirsten and Russell have added many elements to the property, including:
- a productive kitchen garden based around ten no-dig raised beds
- poultry, including chickens, ducks, geese, guinea fowl, turkeys and most recently quail
- house cow and goats (we currently have three adorable goat kids, so be prepared for cuddles and chaos!)
- Dorper sheep
- honey bees
- livestock guardian dogs Alba, Sergio and Bruno
- solar panels and battery system
