BOOK HERE \nWhat We’ll Do\n6.30 pm – Learn – Next Steps in Growing an Incredible Edible Garden: What to Plant\, When and Where\nPresented by Debbie Bassingthwaighte\, Nurtured Life\nOnce the planning is done\, the real fun begins. \nAt our March Connect and Learn evening\, we explored the First Steps in Planning an Incredible Edible Garden. Now it’s time to focus on what comes next. \nWhat should we plant? When is the right time? And where will each plant thrive best? \nJoin Debbie Bassingthwaighte for a practical session exploring the next steps in creating a productive\, resilient\, incredible edible garden. Building on her previous presentation\, Debbie will share ways to work with seasonal rhythms\, plant relationships\, and natural systems to help gardens flourish. \n  \nWhat We’ll Learn\nTogether we’ll explore: \n\nWhat to plant through the seasons in Toowoomba and SE Queensland.\nSeasonal planting calendars and moon planting.\nCrop rotation and succession planting.\nCompanion planting\, guilds\, and beneficial plant relationships.\nBiodiversity and creating healthy garden ecosystems.\nPractical ways to improve garden resilience and abundance.\n\nWhether you’re growing in raised beds\, pots\, backyards\, or small urban spaces\, this session will offer gentle guidance\, practical ideas\, and encouragement to help you grow with greater confidence and connection to nature. \nSuitable for beginner and intermediate gardeners\, permaculture enthusiasts\, and anyone interested in creating a thriving edible patch. \nPlease bring your curiosity\, questions\, and seasonal observations to share. \n  \n \n \n \n \n \n  \nAbout Debbie Bassingthwaighte\nDebbie is a learning specialist and designer who is passionate about permaculture-inspired resilience\, abundance\, and connected communities. She was the founding President of Permaculture Toowoomba Inc. and continues to enjoy an active role on the management committee. \nDebbie lives with her husband Brodie and their cavoodle Monty\, at their micro-homestead in Toowoomba\, where she enjoys growing food and living simply. \nShe is also the voice behind Nurtured Life\, where she shares practical garden skills\, plant knowledge\, recipes\, and reflections on wellbeing and sustainable\, nature-connected living. Debbie hopes to inspire others to nurture abundance in their homes and gardens. \n  \n \n \n  \n7.45 pm – Connect – Light Supper (provided) and Share Table\nA light supper will be served (including Gluten Free and Vegan options). \nPlease bring your own KeepCup or mug so we can reduce waste. \nSharing of produce on the Share Table opens after the presentation to allow plenty of time for everyone to place their donations\, and then allow you to browse\, connect and make your selections during supper. \n  \nParking\nFree off-street parking is available under the library (enter from Victoria Street). \n\nAccess\nThe venue has access for wheelchairs\, walking frames\, and strollers as needed. Everyone is welcome (including children with parental supervision). \nWe hope we see you there!\n\n \nWhat to Bring\n\nKeepCup or similar for your drink at supper (we’re trying to minimise waste)\nDonations of surplus produce for the Share Table\n\n  \nShare Table\nDo you have surplus? \nWe encourage you to bring your surplus produce\, plants\, seeds\, books\, craft supplies\, and resources to share with others at our events. \nSome ideas of what you could bring include – fruit\, vegetables\, herbs\, eggs\, honey\, milk\, jams\, pickles\, preserves\, jars\, ferments\, starters\, SCOBYs\, seeds\, plants\, seedlings\, cuttings\, tubers\, pots\, tools\, gardening magazines\, permaculture books\, recipes\, patterns\, manure\, coffee grounds\, compost additives\, worms\, mealworms\, wool\, fabric\, craft supplies\, soap\, natural cleaning products\, plastic alternatives\, produce bags – the list is extensive. \nPlease bring whatever you can and then take home whatever you need within our culture of generosity and free sharing. \n \n  \nCost\n\nFinancial Members of Permaculture Toowoomba Inc. – Free\nFirst time visitors to a Permaculture Toowoomba Inc. event – $10.00\nNon-Members – $20.00\nChildren attending with an Adult – Free (but please book so we know the total numbers)\n\n\nMembership 2026\nAnnual Membership of Permaculture Toowoomba Inc. is due by 31 December each year. It’s only $50 per person or $40 for a second or subsequent adult living in the same home. \nFinancial Members can attend regular events and workshops during the year at no cost. \nYou can pay your membership for 2026 at checkout when you book to attend this event. \nMembership forms will be available at the event for anyone wishing to join\, or available here for download at http://www.permaculturetoowoomba.com.au/membership/
