Sara Hammer is a former academic with over 15 years’ experience in both Higher Education and Permaculture practice. She is currently completing an online Horticulture Certificate and lives simply on a suburban quarter acre block in Toowoomba with her partner Michael.
Sara completed her Permaculture Design Certificate with Geoff Lawton in 2009 at Zaytuna Farm in Northern NSW. She travelled to the Republic of Jordan in 2011 and was inspired by the dryland Permaculture practiced at Geoff’s second Greening the Desert site. She is passionate about food forests, passive water harvesting, food preserving and retro-suburban futures.
Sara recently started a Permaculture consulting practice, Simple Life Permaculture, which aims to help people in suburbia to shift to more sustainable way of living. She offers advice and design plans for suburban gardens, and can provide educational activities focused on Permaculture design, food preparation and managing household energy use.
