What We’ll Do
6.30 pm – Learn – Next Steps in Growing an Incredible Edible Garden: What to Plant, When and Where
Presented by Debbie Bassingthwaighte, Nurtured Life
Once the planning is done, the real fun begins.
At our March Connect and Learn evening, we explored the First Steps in Planning an Incredible Edible Garden. Now it’s time to focus on what comes next.
What should we plant? When is the right time? And where will each plant thrive best?
Join Debbie Bassingthwaighte for a practical session exploring the next steps in creating a productive, resilient, incredible edible garden. Building on her previous presentation, Debbie will share ways to work with seasonal rhythms, plant relationships, and natural systems to help gardens flourish.
What We’ll Learn
Together we’ll explore:
- What to plant through the seasons in Toowoomba and SE Queensland.
- Seasonal planting calendars and moon planting.
- Crop rotation and succession planting.
- Companion planting, guilds, and beneficial plant relationships.
- Biodiversity and creating healthy garden ecosystems.
- Practical ways to improve garden resilience and abundance.
Whether you’re growing in raised beds, pots, backyards, or small urban spaces, this session will offer gentle guidance, practical ideas, and encouragement to help you grow with greater confidence and connection to nature.
Suitable for beginner and intermediate gardeners, permaculture enthusiasts, and anyone interested in creating a thriving edible patch.
Please bring your curiosity, questions, and seasonal observations to share.
